My favorite medium would have to be paint. Because you have the primary colors which are red, yellow, and blue. Then you have the secondary colors which are green, orange, and purple. I also like how you can mix the diffrent colors together to make other diffrent types of colors or diffrent shades or tones of colors. What else is good is even though you have all the main colors there are other colors you can make to use in paintings. Plus with paint there isn't just one type, of paint there are all sorts of paints. I also like how you can show contrast and shading with paint just like other types of mediums. Overall I would like to develop my skill in painting/paint if I had to choose a medium to do so.

This piece is of a landscape near one of my favorite fishing ponds, me and my friends call it holiday pond since that's the name of the neighborhood. I have a personal connection to this piece because like I said its one of my favorite ponds and this part of the pond looks the best. I also like anything to do with the outdoors since I am a fisherman and a hunter. I felt like this would look the best as my landscape picture because the trees had all diffrent colors and the grass had diffrent shades and the reflection off of the water was good. This also represents me because most of the time during the summer you will find me near a body of water with a fishing pole in my hand so I feel like this painting shows who I am. Overall I find this painting good because of the diffrent contrast in the trees and grass turned out great. Also this represents me as a artist because I like painting, and trying to make things look real. I definitely could use some practice but it is something I would want to get good at. The first piece is were we had to choose some type of scene where we could make it black and white and have it switch based on the color behind it. I feel I grew as a artist because it helped me become more neat when cutting stuff out and helped me find out how stuff could work together. It challenged me at times because the little blocks on the pyramid were hard to make but over time I got better at it and I feel I got better at my craftsminship. I grew in the contrast part because I had to figure out how to make the black and white stand out and look good apart from each other while being so close together. The second piece is were we had to use oil pastels to shade and show how to make a flat object look 3D, and how light would hit it. I feel that I grew at this type of art because I never used oil pastels to shade I have only used pencils. But the oil pastels really struck my interest because the way they look on paper is nice looking and catches the attention of people. I also grew at my shading skill and artistic vision because in my mind I had ideas to how it would look and how I could incorporate it on paper, while using the shading to make it look 3D. This is the print making project, and this one I felt I did the worst on. I feel that this is my least successful project because it doesn't look real, or neat. In this project we had to carve out a picture of a animal or a scene of the outdoors and print it on a piece of paper. I feel I could have done a lot better on this project then I did but I think the main reason I did bad was because I didnt have a interest in this project. Some things I could have done better was have better craftsminship at the carving part of this, and I could have added more detail in the coral and the fish. I feel like if I had more interest in it the final project would have looked better. If I got another chance at this project I would take more time then I did and make sure I had more textures and lines to make it look real because I like real looking pictures. If I did it again I would want a diffrent theme other then animals, such as a print of something to do with sports which I like. But it could have been a lot worse but compared to my other work I feel this is the lest successful. This is my final product for the perspective drawing unit. I feel that this is my most successful project because everything came together and looked good and it looks real. The theme is a city of game pieces first we had to find pictures relating to the theme and use those to help sketch out some different city's or scenes, then we had to pick our favorite one, and make a bigger drawing of it which would be a draft of our final product, once that was done we started on the final and colored it in. My choice to use the chess pieces and the sorry game pieces really made it come to life because the roads of the city is a game board so that really helped this project come together. To help us get going on the project my teacher first had us take notes on 1 pt, 2 pt, 3pt, perspectives, so we could get a idea of how they each worked. After the notes we did some practice along with my teacher who drew examples on the board and she thought us diffrent ways to do each type of perspective. Although throughout the project I had some questions to how to make stuff work they were answerd by my teacher so I feel like the instruction she gave us helped me throughout the project and the practice examples helped me the most and helped make this project a success. I would definitely like to do more stuff in perspectives because I feel they are some of the coolest pictures. I would also like to advance my skills at this type of art. |
